The Story

It started with a table.
Bobby, a craftsman by instinct, began shaping wood for himself. Not for anyone else. A table for his living room. A lamp carved from a fallen branch. Pieces made to fill his own spaces with warmth and texture.
He was not searching for perfection. He was following a feeling: the quiet pleasure of working with his hands, the calm that comes when material turns to meaning. Each piece held something honest, a balance of weight, grain, and memory.
Soon, what began as a personal pursuit found its way into other homes. Friends, visitors, and collectors began to see what he saw: the beauty of something made slowly, thoughtfully, and by hand.
And so, The Timber Collective took shape. Not as a business, but as a continuation of that first impulse: to create from care.
Today, every object carries that same origin: a craftsman’s curiosity, the intimacy of home, and the belief that true beauty reveals itself only when it is lived with.

The Workshop

Every piece begins here. In a quiet studio surrounded by slabs of Sheesham and Acacia, each waiting for its turn. The walls carry the scent of sawdust and linseed oil. Tools hang where they’ve always hung.
This is where Bobby studies the wood before making the first cut. Where a plank becomes a table, where a fallen branch becomes a lamp. The process is slow by choice. We work with the material, not against it. The wood decides its form. The maker follows.

The Wood

We work with two primary hardwoods, both native to North India.

Sheesham

A variety of Teak, prized for its durability and rich amber grain. It deepens with age, growing warmer over years of use. Each slab carries natural variation in colour and pattern.

Acacia

Known locally as Kikar, with distinctive grain patterns and warm tones that range from honey to deep brown. Natural character marks make each piece unmistakable.
Where possible, we use reclaimed wood. Material that already carries a life. To give it another is our way of honouring what nature has already made.

What We Believe

We believe that beauty is not made. It is revealed. It appears slowly, through touch, through use, through the rhythm of daily life.
Our craft is patient. Each surface is shaped by hand, each form found through repetition, observation, and instinct. Perfection is never the goal. Presence is.
We build with what feels honest. The material decides its form; the maker follows. There are no shortcuts, no disguises. Only the truth of wood, time, and touch.
We design for permanence. For homes that evolve, for families that grow, for generations that inherit. Each creation is meant to gather stories, not dust.
And more than function, our work carries feeling. It fills rooms not with noise, but with calm. The kind of quiet that turns a space into a home.
